Privacy Policy for Feelings Wheel Studio

This policy describes how Feelings Wheel Studio handles information in the Feelings Wheel Studio Android app and its supporting online services. Feelings Wheel Studio is the developer and service operator. Privacy questions may be sent to [email protected].

Private use and on-device information

The app works without a Feelings Wheel Studio account. Phrase input, searches, selected feelings, discovery paths, body and intensity choices, notes, journal drafts, and temporary preview state are processed on the device. They are not automatically sent to Feelings Wheel Studio.

Private reflection content is not saved unless the user chooses a save action. Saved check-ins are encrypted using Android Keystore-backed protection. The app also stores non-sensitive settings and first-use status on the device. Android backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for app data.

Information sent when you choose an online action

• Public content requests retrieve public wheel and marketplace information. The request can include ordinary network information such as IP address, user agent, request time, route, and response status.
• A marketplace concern report sends the selected concern type and any optional note entered for that report.
• If optional account services are available and you choose to use them, the service may process a name, email address, account identifier, authentication information, and identifiers for public marketplace items you choose to save. A previously stored adult account session can also send its authentication token and automatically check its public collection, even when new sign-in is unavailable. That token can contain the account name and email. Clearing the stored account session in the app stops its use.
• If you deliberately copy, share, export, or open content in another app, the destination you choose receives that content under its own privacy practices.

How information is used

Information is used to provide requested app functions, deliver public content, maintain optional accounts and public collections, review safety reports, prevent abuse, secure the service, diagnose failures, and comply with law. Feelings Wheel Studio does not sell personal or sensitive information and does not use it for targeted advertising.

Advertising, analytics, and third parties

The Android app does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. Service providers may process limited information on behalf of Feelings Wheel Studio for hosting, security, and optional email delivery. Information may also be disclosed when required by valid legal process or to protect users and the service.

Retention and deletion

• Unsaved session information is cleared when the session is reset, Quick Exit is used, app data is cleared, or the app process is ended according to Android behavior. Android releases with Google age checks also clear visible unsaved words, selections, notes, and builder drafts when the app goes into the background. Saved encrypted check-ins are preserved.
• Saved check-ins remain on the device until deleted in Journal, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
• Marketplace reports are retained only as needed to investigate, document, and resolve safety or policy concerns, then deleted or de-identified when they are no longer needed.
• Optional account data is retained while the account is active and is deleted after a valid deletion request, except limited records that must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
• Website access logs record the IP address, browser user agent, requested path, request time, response status, and timing for reliability and abuse prevention. These logs are automatically deleted after 90 days. Future access logs do not record URL query strings, referrers, or usernames. Other security or investigation records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose or legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.

You can delete local saved check-ins inside the app. To request deletion of an optional account and associated server data, use the account deletion page or email [email protected].

Security

Production service traffic uses HTTPS, Android cleartext traffic is disabled, sensitive local saved data uses Android Keystore-backed encryption, and app data is excluded from Android backup. No system can guarantee absolute security, but access and retention are limited to the purposes described here.

Children

Feelings Wheel Studio offers different experiences for ages 6–8, 9–12, 13–17, and 18 and over. You can also use the simplest experience without choosing an age group. The age-group preference stays on the device; choosing it does not require a name or birthday, verify a person's age, or establish parental consent.

The marketplace is available only in the 18-and-over experience. Younger and unspecified-age experiences use a selected set of our bundled wheels with age-appropriate detail limits. They do not provide account actions, marketplace reporting, sharing, imported wheels, or access to saved adult journal history. Existing saved adult data is kept on the device when the experience changes and is not displayed in the younger experience.

Supporting websites and hosting services may receive the ordinary network information described above. Age selection is not sent with emotional input. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information may contact [email protected] to request deletion or ask about privacy.

Google age checks in Android

Android releases that offer Check Google age use the Google Play Age Signals API. Choosing that control asks Google Play to share an age range under Google's age-sharing controls; a supervising parent can manage sharing through Family Link. The simplest reviewed experience remains available without that check. If no usable range is shared, higher-age features remain unavailable. A local experience choice can reduce the available detail but cannot raise it above the Google-provided range.

The app reads only the shared age range, its source, and the applicable significant-change approval status. It uses them in memory to select age-appropriate content and access, then clears the access decision when the app goes into the background and rechecks before restoring higher-age access. It does not request an exact birthday, retain an install identifier, send the signal to Feelings Wheel Studio, log it, or use it for advertising or analytics. Google Play handles its own account information and sharing processes under Google's privacy practices.

A Google-provided age range may be self-declared, parent-managed, or assessed; it is not necessarily verified. On a shared device it may not describe the person using the app. It does not establish parental consent for other data processing. These Android checks do not verify a website visitor's age; the website's local age chooser remains self-reported.

Health and safety

Feelings Wheel Studio is a vocabulary and reflection tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not therapy or emergency support. Contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service when urgent help is needed.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app, service, or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available at this URL with its updated date.
